SHOCK & AWE

A lifelong concern with injustice and how I respond to it has led to a series of works on this and other gallery pages.

Shock and Awe began with my distress at the civilian carnage of the Iraq War of 2002.

The guns, made of broken light-bulbs, are an obvious metaphor for the light that went out in people’s lives, but perhaps the pieces also embody the cruelty, hurt and viciousness of war in general.
